Who we are

HolidayHouse.app ("we") makes the Holiday House app for iPhone and iPad, and this website. You can reach us at support@holidayhouse.app.

Signing in

You sign in with Apple. Apple tells us a private ID for you and, if you allow it, your name and an email address (which can be one of Apple's private relay addresses). We use these only to know it's you and keep your houses yours. There's no password.

What you put into the app

To share a house, you and the people in it add things like:

• the house's name, area and country
• your name, and if you choose, your mobile number and email
• bookings, notes about the house (such as the Wi-Fi password and bin night), photos, contacts and Care jobs
• a link to your family's group chat, if you add one

Please don't store door codes, alarm codes or other entry details in the app.

If you use "Pick from my contacts", Apple's own picker shows your contacts on your phone. The app only receives the one person you tap, and only that person's details go into the house.

Where it's kept

Each house is kept on our server, run on Supabase, and a copy is kept on the phones of the people in it so it works without a signal. Information is encrypted on its way to and from the server, and stored encrypted. The server only lets people who are in a house read or change it. Earlier versions of each house are kept for a while so mistakes can be undone.

We don't look at what's in your houses, except if you ask us to help fix a problem.

Who can see what

• Everyone in a house can see that house's bookings, notes, photos, contacts, jobs and members, including the name, mobile and email each member chose to add.
• A house's admins can change its settings, make people admins, remove people and delete the house.
• People in one of your houses can't see your other houses.

Files you make

A backup, or a calendar file of your bookings, is made on your phone and goes wherever you choose to save or send it. A backup holds the Wi-Fi password and everyone's contact details, so keep it private. Adding a booking to your phone's calendar uses Apple's own screen; the app can't read your calendar.

What we don't do

• No advertising and no advertising IDs.
• No analytics or tracking tools in the app.
• No selling, renting or sharing of your information.

When you contact us

If you email us, for example with "Send feedback" in the app, we get your email address, what you write and the app version in the subject line. We use it only to reply and to improve the app, and we delete it when it's no longer needed.

If you tap "Rate the app", Apple handles the rating. We see only the ratings and reviews Apple shows to every developer.

This website

This site uses no cookies and no analytics. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic request information (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site.

Removing your information

• Leave a house: Settings, then Your house, then Leave. You stop seeing it; your contact card stays in the house under Family and friends.
• Delete a house: an admin can delete a whole house in Settings. It's removed for everyone.
• Delete your account: Settings, then Your details, then Delete my account. You leave every house and your sign-in is deleted. Bookings you made stay in each house's calendar.
• Deleting the app removes what's on your phone.

Children

The app is meant to be set up by adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Big changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
